Challenge

In 2018/19 Synlait found themselves let down by a supplier and asked RML to create a semi-automatic capper for them with an 18-week lead time.  

As always, hygiene and speed were critical and, in this case, the customer needed a process which would orientate the can label with the lid opener to the front so all looked perfect and consistent on the supermarket shelves. Factory space was in short supply and our working footprint was to test the team.  

Solution

Although originally designed as a temporary solution, this machine is going strong as at 2022 and Synlait has recently asked us to upgrade it to be fully automatic.
